Maui Jim Ho’okipa Reading Sunglasses
Since summer is still here in Colorado, and probably will be for a while, and it’s still awfully bright out, I thought it would be a good time to talk about Maui Jim’s line of reading sunglasses. The Ho’okipa is the larger of the 2 styles Maui Jim uses for their reading sunglasses. They’re also (of course) polarized, as is everything in Maui Jim’s line-up. The Ho’okipa is now available in 3 colors: HCL Brown, Neutral Grey and Maui Jim’s newest HT, which is a lighter green lens, great for contrast and days with more flat light. It comes in 3 powers: +1.50, +2.00 and +2.50, and these will fit most needs. They’re great for reading by the pool, hiking, golfing, or even driving in your car. The small bifocal towards the bottom of the frame doesn’t interfere with your distance vision, but comes in quite handy. You can read books and maps, and write on your golf scorecard, all without having to remove your glasses.
The polarization is essential if you’re on or near the water, and it’s pretty helpful everywhere else, as well. It really cuts down on the surface glare, and makes things more comfortable for your eyes. These glasses are wonderful, and everyone who needs reading glasses should have a pair of these Maui Jim sunglasses, too.

Cue Eyeglasses Exemplify Style in LA Times
I just finished reading an article in the LA Times about Victor Drai, nightclub creator extraordinaire, and his two partners Jesse and Cy Wyatt. The three are preparing to open a new club at the W Hotel on Hollywood and Vine the end of this month named, Drai’s Hollywood.
So what’s the point of this post. There is a section in the article discussing fashion and the fact that if something isn’t fashionable, the three don’t want it in their clubs. They work hard to create a certain energy and appearance in their spaces and fashion is a big part of this. The three had pictures taken for the article and there, flat smack dab in the middle of the other two portraits is Victor Drai. Why is this exciting? Because Drai is wearing the Cue eye glasses by LA Eyeworks.
Europtics has known all of the frames hailing from LA Eyeworks are fashionable for years. It is still exciting to see other people, especially those so associated with fashion and celebrity, seem to think so too.

Welcome to the New Europtics Blog
Hello, and welcome to the new Europtics blog “Eyewear Diaries”.
It has been a busy year at Europtics, we’ve relocated our Greenwood Village store to a beautiful new space, held two major trunk shows and welcomed a number of new opticians. The stores have been busy and new product is arriving constantly. Just last week Alain Mikli eyewear returned to our Cherry Creek store after a long hiatus and today Switch Vision Magnetic Sunglasses were unpacked. All of this and we’re not yet 2 months in to the year.
What better way to communicate all that is happening at Europtics to you, our valuable clients, than expand our website and add a blog.
It is Europtics hope that this blog serves as a location to see the latest and greatest in eyewear, learn about what’s happening in our stores, and get to know our staff members. It will also feature articles on the latest in vision and eyeglass technologies. This is just what we see this platform as able to serve as right now. It will be constantly changing and expanding so if you have any great ideas for things you would like to see, please, leave us a comment.
Stay tuned…. There’s more to come.
